Armenian Genocide 104-rd Year Commemoration Evening in Beijing

On April 24, 2019, Commemoration Evening dedicated to 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the People’s Republic of China.

Armenian students from different universities in Beijing and overall China, businessmen, as well as other state citizens (Germany, Kazakhstan, Costa Rica, Georgia, Switzerland, Russia and USA) were present at the commemoration evening. Andrey Ghukasyan, the Governor of Lori Region of Armenia, who was in China at the invitation of the Chinese side to take part in the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, also attended the event.

The commemoration evening began with flower laying and burning incense, as well as candle lightening ceremony before the Khachkar in front of the Embassy.

It continued in the ceremony hall of the Embassy by observing a minute of silence in the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. H.E. Mr. Sergey Manassarian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the People’s Republic of China, as well as Andrey Ghukasyan, the Governor of Lori Region of Armenia, welcomed the guests and delivered a speech afterwards. The attendees watched documentary film “Soghomon Tehliryan”.
