The delegation headed by Deputy Prime-Minister Tigran Avinyan takes part in China International Import Exhibition

 On November 5, the delegation headed by Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Tigran Avinyan participated in the opening of the 2nd China International Import Exhibition in Shanghai. The opening ceremony was followed by a tour of Chinese high-ranking officials and members of international delegations through national pavilions.

 At the exhibition, Armenia was represented by national and business pavilions, featuring Armenian-made drinks. The Ararat Brandy Company and the Winery and Viticulture Fund were provided with separate pavilions in which the Winery and Viticulture Fund represented the products of 13 Armenian wineries.

During the basic 5 and 10 additional days of the exhibition, the Armenian national pavilion featured Armenian culture, tourism, the advantages of the Armenian economy, the path of industry development, export and investment opportunities.

On November 5, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan also participated in the panel discussion on "Artificial Intelligence and Innovation: Developing the World; ideas, technology and markets ”in the frames of International Economic forum in Shanghai.

On November 6, Deputy Prime -Minister Avinyan held a meeting with Vice President of Huawei  Mr. Zhao Xiaobin, in Beijing. Mr Avinyan presented the potential and peculiarities of the Armenian scientific and technological ecosystem, as well as the opportunities for investments in the field of information technologies. The Vice President of Huawei referred to the main directions of the company's development, including equipment production and research activities.

The parties discussed the prospects of economic development of Armenia, development of high technology and solar energy. An agreement was reached to explore further opportunities for cooperation, including in research and development.

On November 6, Tigran Avinyan also held a meeting with Chairman of Bank of China Bank Liu Liang, in Beijing. Bank of China is the fourth largest bank by volume of assets in the world.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime-Minister presented the prospects of Armenia's economic development, including opportunities for investment in infrastructure, education, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and high technologies. Emphasizing the attractive geographical location of Armenia and the favorable environment for business development, Liu Liang expressed readiness to deepen further cooperation, including within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. Tigran Avinyan invited the President of the Bank to Armenia for discussing possible joint initiatives.

At the end of the meeting the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the person of the Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Varos Simonyan and the Vice President of Bank of China. In this context, the parties expressed a desire to establish mechanisms to facilitate mutual investments and trade of SMEs in Armenia and China, to form a platform to encourage SME cross-border cooperation, as well as to jointly explore new models of cooperation and services to support SME cooperation. :
