Armenia was presented at “China International Fair for Trade in Services”

Presentation titled “Armenia: Gateway to Big Markets” took place at the “China International Fair for Trade in Services” (CIFTIS) on May 28 in Beijing. Ambassador of Armenia to China H.E. Sergey Manassarian made an opening speech mentioning that Armenian-Chinese relations are developing dynamically in cultural as well as economic contexts. He underlined that China is presently one of Armenia’s main trade partners. According to Ambassador Manassarian, being an indivisible part of ancient Silk Road, Armenia is highly prioritizing “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

 

During the presentation Trade Representative of Armenia to China Hrant Abajyan spoke about Armenia’s economic data and potential, as well as growing dynamics of Armenian-Chinese trade. Hrant Abajyan has mentioned that “Armenia has a business friendly environment for Chinese business due to the “open door” policy for investments. Armenia is also a gateway to the World big markets: production exported from Armenia has privileges for entering EAEU, EU, Iran and GSP markets”. Trade Representative of Armenia has talked in details about export opportunities and different spheres of economy. In particular, Hrant Abajyan has presented opportunities for investment in infrastructure, renewable energy, mining, processing industry and other spheres of big potential.

In the second part of the event touristic attractions of Armenia and simplified visa procedure for Chinese ordinary Passport holders were presented. Videos about Armenia were screened during the presentation. The Trade Representative answered the questions of the audience about the investment climate and opportunities of Armenia.

 

Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism between the State Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia and Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Administration was signed by the Ambassador of Armenia to China and Vice Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Administration in the framework of CIFTIS.
